Collection: Cardiac
Cardiac inflammation testing using the CLIA (Chemiluminescent Immunoassay) method is used to detect markers related to heart damage or heart-related inflammation in blood samples. In this method, a patient’s blood serum is mixed with reagents containing specific antibodies that bind to cardiac biomarkers such as Troponin, CK-MB, or C-reactive protein (CRP). If these markers are present, an antigen–antibody reaction occurs, and a chemiluminescent substance produces light during the reaction. The laboratory analyzer measures the intensity of this light, and the amount of light produced is directly proportional to the concentration of the cardiac marker in the sample. This method is highly sensitive and rapid, so it is commonly used to help diagnose heart conditions such as Myocardial Infarction and to monitor cardiac inflammation or injury.
