A urine strip test (also called a urinalysis dipstick test) is a quick screening test that checks for several substances in urine to help assess health, especially kidney function, urinary tract infections (UTIs), metabolic conditions, and hydration status.

What is a urine strip test?

It uses a plastic strip with chemical pads. When dipped into urine, each pad changes color depending on what’s present. The colors are compared to a chart to interpret results.
