Dengue is a flavivirus, transmitted by Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. Primary Dengue infection causes IgM antibodies to increase to a detectable level in 3 to 5 days after the onset of fever. IgM antibodies generally persist for 30 to 90 days. Most Dengue patients in endemic regions have secondary infections, resulting in high levels of specific IgG antibodies prior to or simultaneous with IgM response. Therefore, the detection of specific anti-Dengue IgM and IgG antibodies can also help to distinguish between primary and secondary infections.

  • Warnings and Precautions

    • Please read the instruction carefully before performing the test.
    • Do not use the test after the expiration date.
    • Immediately carry out the test after removing the test device from the pouch.
    • Do not mix or interchange the specimen sample.

  • Limitation

    • For in vitro diagnostic use only; detects Dengue IgG and IgM antibodies in whole blood, serum, or plasma.
    • This test detects the presence of IgG and IgM antibodies to Dengue in the specimen and should not be used as the sole criterion for the diagnosis of Dengue.
    • If the test result is negative and clinical symptoms persist, additional follow-up testing using other clinical methods is recommended. A negative result does not preclude the possibility of a Dengue infection.
