Collection: Anemia
Anemia is a medical condition in which the body does not have enough healthy red blood cells or hemoglobin to carry adequate oxygen to the tissues. Hemoglobin is the protein in red blood cells responsible for transporting oxygen throughout the body. When hemoglobin levels are low, the body’s organs and tissues receive less oxygen, leading to symptoms such as fatigue, weakness, pale skin, dizziness, and shortness of breath. Anemia can occur due to several causes, including iron deficiency, vitamin B12 deficiency, blood loss, or certain chronic diseases. Laboratory tests such as hemoglobin measurement, red blood cell count, and iron studies help diagnose anemia. If left untreated, anemia can lead to serious health problems, but it is usually manageable with proper diagnosis and treatment.
